How do I register for a workshop?

To register for a workshop, or if you have any questions, please call Benjamin Shoenberger 540-338-7973 or email at benjamin.shoenberger@loudoun.gov Each workshop is only $10 per person or $25 per family!!

Where are the workshops held?

The workshops are held at primarily two different locations. One being the Franklin Park Arts Center in Purecellville and the other is at the Leesburg Senior Center in Leesburg.

Acting Technique-
Samantha Oester will be teaching some of the basic techniques actors use to create characters. We will also learn theatrical terms, how to project your voice as well as theater games.

Costume Design-
Nancy Hutchenson will teach us how to be a costume designer. Participants will learn how to take costume measurements, how to design a costume for a show and ultimately design Cinderella’s Ball gown for our upcoming production of Cinderella.

Scenery Design-
Rick Conway will teach us how to be a scenic designer. Participants will learn about the process of designing sets for a show and ultimately help design part of the set for our upcoming production of Cinderella.

* A Play A Day Camp- this is our first time offering a summer camp! You've got to check this one out!
Each day you will create a play alongside Tom Sweitzer. You will work on a song, a visual art piece and a short script which you will perform at the end of each session. The camp will include improvisation, movement and of course fun. Class size is limited to 15 participants.

Character Dance-
Join Kellie Goosens as she teaches the most common type of musical theater dance steps used in most musical theater productions. Many of these steps will be used in our upcoming production of Cinderella.

Waltz & Gavotte-
Kellie Goosens will teach us how to waltz and dance the gavotte. Both of these dance styles are used in ballroom type dancing. These types of dance will be used in our upcoming production of Cinderella.

Dance Review-
Kellie Goosens will review the styles of dance we have worked on this summer. Come practice, or come and learn for the first time. These are sure to be a fun time for all.
